COMAND maps update

Although I read several posts on the forum on this topic (and followed several links to the MB official website), I couldn't find a straight forward answer to:

1) How do I find out what maps version has my 2012 E220 (can access the engineering menu, I just don't know which option it is!)?
2) What is the latest maps version available?
3) What is the latest COMAND firmware version available?

Hope my questions make sense - please feel free to be blunt if they don't, I really need an answer!

Your car has free map up[dates as its a post 2011 model. I would simply take it into a main dealer and ask them to load the latest maps on it for you.

Yes, but I would like to know if a new version of maps is available, otherwise there is no point even trying.

Also, I presume COMAND firmare and Maps version don't necessarily go together. Do you know if there is any latest COMAND version available?
 
I've just had a similar debate over what's what after the lease company sent my car to an indy for it's first service.

As they had no Star, they could not sort the dipped light height out (although they confirmed that they were high) and couldn't do any COMAND changes.

It's going into my local dealer soon to have both things looked at - however they wouldn't / couldn't tell the lease co whether there were any updates needed. As the updates take, they were told, up to three hours to do it'll be in all day... ho hum.

c'mon guys, you're saying there isn't a official central repository of all firmware and maps available which I can check which is the latest version?

Please help!

Thanks npuk, that pdf seems to have done the trick. I suppose you wouldn't know how may I check the maps part number currently installed on my car?

I have V8.0 (2013) on the NTG4.5 in my W204 (updated earlier this month). As far as I'm aware it's exactly the same COMAND as in the W212.

Select the Nav menu, and then scroll down to the option "Map Version". It doesn't display the part number.
 
Map version on my 2015 CLA

Hi, I'm a new member and this is my first post. I have just bought my first Mercedes, a W117 2015 CL 220 Sport with COMAND. I am very pleased with it but am having trouble with finding out what issue of maps I have. There is some confusion as to whether the dealer updated before I received the car. I have tried st13phil's suggestion above but it doesn't seem to work. I therefore have several questions:
1. How to find the map version and what updates are available?
2. Does the version vary between models? Eg C class, E class
3. How to find the version of COMAND and whether updates are available?

I telephoned HQ Customer Services but strangely they couldn't tell me what map version I had but that I would not have the latest version V5 2016 issued in Sep! This V5 seems to be at total variance to other version numbers found in the forum and hence my question 2 above.

Can anyone help please

Had the map update on my 2013 E Coupe done in March this year, this is the last one to be done free of charge , so I was told !

Comand NTG 4.5 2015/2016 V13.0 Europe

If the instructions from st13phil do not seem to work, read carefully your COMAND manual and you should find out the correct menu sequence. On some older cars one could not read the version from any menu, sometimes inserting and update DVD brings the old and the new version numbers up.

Find your car model and you'll find the latest update. From the same document you can find which MB models use the same data.
 
However, a 2015 CLA could well be NTG5*1 - and as that is a relatively new system, the map version numbers are lower for a given year.

I suspect Daltom's car is NTG5*1

I need V8.0 (2013) on the NTG4.5, can you please upload DVD's?
My MB is E 350 CDI S212 wagon 2011.
