Mine always used to show a few faults ... never seemed to actually malfunction though .. I figured it was maybe because it had been retro-fitted and therefore wasn't coded to the car properly.
with the faults showing press * & 0 - they should clear. then after a few days check to see if they reappear - if not all is well , if they do , maybe worth a trip to MB for a quick diagnostic. but if comand is working as expected, even with fault codes I wouldnt worry.
As far as working ok it is a little difficult to tell as I live on the IOM (yip why do you need comand!!!) and teleatlas does not cover. However using the mute + 1+3 infos option I see that my speed is zero although the forward and reverse indicates OK so the reverse signal is getting thru.
I thought that with a canbus CLK 320 - face lift with the OBD connection under the steering wheel the speed pulse would get there via can bus.
My comand is a late 208 820 44 89.
Before I find the speed pulse (thread is bookmarked) I have a visit to the dealer on Thu to activate the cluster. Will a config help the speed pulse issue?
I tried this to call up the menu on my COMAND but nothing happened (well, it spat out the DVD) - does anyone know what the equivalent access is for my (w211 DVD COMAND).

on W211 DVD: press MUTE first and hold, then while MUTE is pressed, push <phone hangup> and SERV at the same time. Hold all three buttons in for at least 8 seconds.
:bannana: All is well located the speed pulse L/H side green & black and routed to C2 -6.
Comand works Ok and by going to infos you can see the speed and it matches the digital speedo reading - no lag. Tried the green & lilac but it has a 2-3 second lag to the speedo.
