Hi there,

I have just taken delivery of a C240 with Comand.  The car has done a few miles but is in great condition.  It was registered in the UK (imported from Europe new) in April 2001.

What I was wanting to find out was what type of Comand I have got.  Is it DX or none DX.  I would like to update the CD-ROM but don't know which one to get.

My current CD-ROM appears not to have all of the streets in it.  When I look on the Blaupunkt or TeleAtlas sites they have CD-ROM for the DX with all of the roads.  The current CDROM says that it is DX compatable.

Also, is it as simple as just buying a new CD-ROM. <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

Thanks

Mike

when you fire it up, does it say &quot;DX&quot; in the corner?

it is as simple as buying a new CD, they are rather expensive, the one you want is &quot;TravelPilot DX&quot;, I believe.

The 2002 disc copies well.... <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/banana.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':bannana:'>

Could you possibly let me know how I can drag these off your server? &nbsp;Protocols, logins etc? <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

I would like to testdrive the 2002 UK disc before buying.

Thanks for the replies. &nbsp; My system does boot with a DX in the corner so its a DX system. &nbsp;Wouldn't mind trying the 2002 disk before I buy just to make sure everything OK.

Thanks <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

Would this be a 'long term' trial then?

ROTFLMAO <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/devil.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

A short term test! &nbsp;<img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'> &nbsp; <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'> &nbsp; <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>
PM me.

Do you have any COMAND disks for regions other than France, Germany UK etc? So I can do a short term test before I buy?!

No seriously folks!!! &nbsp; It would only be shortv term. &nbsp;Don't fancy spending £117k only to find my road (lived on estate for 18 years!!&#33<img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'> is still not on the map. &nbsp; If this is the case then I might as well save me money. <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

yeah but I'm guessing after 18 years you can find your own road-end! <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

for £117K (GBP) &nbsp;ill sit in the car and guide you for a year . Im willing to take a paycut for the cause <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hehe.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hehe:'>

Sorry everyone meant £117 not £117k. &nbsp;For that price I would expect a lot more than a Merc. <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>

But seriously, I don't see any point in a system with partially digitised maps. &nbsp;I hired a BMW 5 series in Germany which took me to a street in a small village fo 120km from Munich. &nbsp;I was never &quot;off-road&quot; during the whole trip. &nbsp;I expect that in the UK after all, it may come as a shock to the English, but we are now in the 21st century.

I will buy a DX disk as suggested above (thanks for the reply) a see if the M1 has caught on <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

Regards
