Hi,

I am looking for a comand unit with sat nav, DVD and phone for my E class 280 Elegance 3.0 V6 - 2006.

I cant find out what to look for as there are so many diverent head units.

I would like a original MB unit.

Please reply with links or tips.

Thanks in advance.

You have a choice.

You can go for the newer W211 model year 2009 hard disk comand unit which has European navigation, 7 digit postcode support, TMC and integrated bluetooth for phone or you can go for the W211 DVD based navigation system which again covers europe, has TMC but no phone and only 5 digit postcode support.

Both systems play DVD movies.

The DVD based comand requires more components than just the head unit. The Hard disk unit is easier to install as there are far less additional components required.

One word of caution though - if you have Harman Kardon in the car then you will need to change the HK amp if you go for the hard disk comand.

Hi again,

Thnx for your reply Alfie, just got my E class 280 3.0 today and had a look at the owners manual I have a Audio 20 installed. And as far as I understand its pre wired for a phone. "See photo"

One more question:
If I want to be able to use my mobile phone what do I need,
I prefer a blue thooth solution... and where can I buy it?

Can I just buy this one:
Bluetooth cradle HFP-Various Part B67875877
And will this be connected to the connector shown above in the armrest consol?
And if so is this all I need to get my Phone working?

I am a bit lost cant find out what to buy and how to....

Thanks for you time in advance..

Yes you have phone pre-wire as Gareth rightly points out.

The HFP cradle you have identified will clip straight in. Whether your phone works with it or not depends on your phone type/model. There are other cradles too.

There are a number of places where you can buy the cradles.

Hi Guys,

Thanx for the replies I am gonna order B67875877
and will let you know how all works out...

Grtx Rick...

Ps... It's my first real Mercedes and I love it... I had a A170 CDI before

Just bought the Bluetooth cradle HFP B67875877 on ebay brand new for £150
Will see if I can pair my Nokia N95 8GB....

Keep you posted

Nice picture.

Nice picture.

It is, the first time I see the star constellations properly appearing in the sky. So far I thought either books show them all wrong or our sky had a bug (must be the latter then). :)

Your pictures are very good. I particularly like the lighting you seem to capture on them.
