Hello

A friend recently purchased an ML (Sept '02). It came with the command unit however with the sat nav cd missing.

Ideally, he would like to purchase a sat nav cd. any ideas ?

Also, is there a way in which this unit can play dvds? He want to get screen in the headrests, and is not sure if the existing command unit has this capability,

Many Thanks

Try this link for the TeleAtlas CD's
http://www.navshop.com

Also you can pick them up on eBay quite cheaply.

As for playing DVD's your freind will need either a DVD based Comand or a separate DVD player I'm afraid. I believe that the COMAND unit can be made to control a separte DVD player. Try http://www.braybrooks.co.uk They seem to be able to just about anything with COMAND units!

Hope this helps

For DVD to work via comand you need a) a dvd player or DVD changer,
and b) an MB tv tuner or Mutimedia adapter

if you are not bothered about Tv then go for the adapter which basicaly fools comand into thinking its own TV tuner is connected and then talks to the DVD player which connects via normal phono plugs. You cant connect dvd directly to comand,.

If you want rear screens then you would also need an adapter for those as comand doesnt support normal screens.

I have recently removed comand from my ML and have a TV tuner and rear screen adapters for sale . I also have a multmedia adapter (not tested but apparantly works fine) going spare.

cables are available from ebay .

Braybrooks are very good , a bit pricey but they know their stuff. Ask for Neil or Kevin.
