Hi,

I'm new to this forum so forgive me If I'm posting in the wong place !!

I've just bought a Jan 2004 ML 270 which has all of the extras I want except satnav. I understand it is possible to get the original Command Sytem installed but I gather that MB dont offer this service.

Can anyone tell me where I can get this done ASAP ?

Thanks

Ooops...forgot to say I live near Congleton, Cheshire (between Manchester and Stoke-on-Trent)

Thanks Again

Hi SPROK welcome to the forum. I think this prob belongs in the Electronics section so one of our friendly mod bods is likely to move it there sometime soon.

There are a few members who are very adpet at COMAND installs so you should get the answer you need.

Is your ML your first MB? What made you choose it - all the goss please and we do like to see pic's in the gallery :D

Pammy,

Yes its the first MB we have owned. We bought it mainly because we needed a tad more space (babys/dog etc) and my wife loves the look of them. I have to say that I test drove nearly all of its rivals and I think its the best.....although we'll have to see about that reliability. Hopefully it will be ok as its a german build model.

I'll try and post a pic late. I'm desperate for a command system though....maps and me dont mix !!!

Thanks for the welcome

hi SPROK welcome

I have fitted & supplied a few comand systems myself. I too have the ML - a chipped 270cdi (silver with grey leather & lux pack) and went through the pain of MB quoting thousands to fit comand.

In the end I did it myself with lots of help from this forum. I've also fitted comand to my own & another forum members C class (203) and also to my previous E55 W210.

there are 2 options open to you

you can use the original ML comand which is part number 163 820 3689

or, as used ML units are not easy to come by (on Ebay) anymore you can use an E class or CLK comand together with an adapter device called a canbus adapter. part number 210 820 5689.

if you do a search on here for comand there is loads of info on retrofitting. The ML is by far the easiest to install into.

I live in Manchester so not too far from you. If you want a demo & maybe to buy an Eclass version from me ( I have a couple that I picked up on Ebay - fully tested & guaranteed to work) I am happy to arrange that. I can also show you how straightforward it is to add the full phone kit & TV tuner.

I can also give you a full parts list of the other bits - wiring loom adapter, & roof mount Antenna cost about £120 ish from your local dealer

Steve,

all sounds great please email me [email protected] with a contact number. how much would i be talking for the lot including roof mounted aerial?

many thanks
