Many thanks for taking time out to reply, at least now I know what issue is, iv seen the copy discs on ebay NOT interested in them, if I was going to use a copy could DL software and burn myself for free, just don't think its worth risk, I will keep eye out for Gen later disk they appear to be cheaper if I don't want latest maps

Rest of unit and all functions are working fine, will sort this after I finish servicing car

Again Many Thanks

All is still well with unit since I plugged all the wires back in. But the clock niggles at me LOL, was having a look around for a disc was not sure what year I needed so thought I would have a look at software

so I have Ver 6 gen MB that came with car Maps are 2005 and software 2006 001900, its very silver not purple like a DVD

Managed to find Version 12, 15, 17 and V19 for my NTG2 the model that runs 1 DVD not 7 disc

so apart from the obvious map updates to files, I get from date of files that the software update changed on V12 to 10/2007 002010 and appears to have stayed the same right up to V19

So im assuming any disc after and inc V12 should have the update I need ?

But curious the clock issue seams from posts to have appeared over last few years, update software dated 2007 on V19

Has anyone actually fixed the clock issue just by updating software with newer Nav disc ?

Its a niggle rather than issue, don't really want to spend money updating software on a Sat Nav I never use, if it don't fix clock

Thanks

I'm my case updating the Nav software from version 001900 to 002010 did not fix clock issue
, I even tried rolling back the software to 001900 made no difference.

But everything else works, radio sat nav ect 100%, as dose the Dash Nav display screen ect.

Ill keep looking for a fix if there is one.

I'm sure there is a work around just don't feel this issue is so much of a problem to waste money on.

Still at a loss why it was all disconnected though.

Because some thick-fingered numpty who didn't know what they were doing tried to fix it, couldn't, wasn't willing to spend money getting somebody who did know what they were doing to fix it, so just gave up and offloaded it.

Yes I came to same conclusion as it appears to have been owned by a biggish transport company and serviced in house for past 3 years and they lacked the training of MB indi

why car is in great condition for year its now at a stage in its life it either works with basic servicing ect or you scrap it.

Most other problems on car I have now fixed, as I said clock is just a niggle and one which from reading post many have not found a fix for other than getting a specialist to perform a work around

I have the same unit with the 6 cd changer under the panel below it
I’m afraid you don’t have the same one. The OP has NTG 2 and in your E class it will be NTG 1 which is very different even if visually similar.

Hi Alfie. No worries. Thanks for the correction.

Good read thanks guys. I only bought the car 2 year ago and the previous owner had updated the sat nav with a genuine disk. Maybe that's interfered the union between radio time and speedo display? My count on the days is 5000+ which would be right for nearly 15yo car. I'm going to do some digging and get back. Has to be a cure somehow!?!
