Thinking of what to get next
Can anyone confirm that w211 589 13 2200 is the latest update disc for my 211's command.

TIA

update disc!

Andy , are you sure you want the latest version ?? I have a version , given to me by Glojo , which allows ETA & dist to dest. as a viewable opt, shows traffic jams on correct side off road, but allows Nav i/p whilst on the move - dont think the latest version does this . Let me know if i can be of any help?

;)

Hi Andy,
It is easier I find in talking versions. The update disc that we are talking about is a 'patch' that resolves a few modifications. It is not an official upgrade for the COMAND and it is certainly not a mapping update.

All i want is for my nav to show eta, it took it in last week for a free upgrade and it still wont show the eta ?? So i thought ide get the latest disc hoping it would do that.

That is the part number for the firmware upgrade disk that became available earlier this year. The upgrade is installed via the head unit DVD. It has no effect on the mapping disk in the boot.

As well as showing ETA, I have noticed that the Dynamic route chosen by the car differs very slightly at certain locations compared to before the upgrade. It is almost as if the car is learning the way I prefer to leave particular places. I expect that it is just my imagination.

If your picking up disks, remember to grab the one for the navi processor in the boot.

Its got a few glitch fixes on it, if anybody does need a copy of that navi processor disk just give me a shout.

yes it is:)
:) My query was with Jay as the COMAND system in the S-class changed to the same as the E, but I'm not sure of either the exact year or model number.

Why on earth there is this number of different model permutations beggars belief. Why for instance is the GL and R-class system inferior to the E-class? Why is the latest CL system not as good as the new S-class? Crazy.

John

Anyone got W211 589 06 22 00 and W220 589 04 22 00 update discs for an E320 '04 that they'd care to share, I will return them and pay your postage costs, thanks.

Cheers

:)

this is the number alfie gave me to use on a W220 S Class..

Yep, but thats a D2B older style comand. The newer comand units for the E/CLS etc are completely different update disks. Sorry if I didnt make that clear:(

Andy,

This is the latest s/w disk for the Comand head unit - it will display ETA on the front screen. I believe it should be installed foc by the MB dealer. However, in my experience, they dont. You can buy the disk for about £12 and install it yourself in a few minutes.
