hi all just picked up a 54 plate s 350 and would like to upgrade the cd mapping. could anyone tell me the latest cd i can purchase as it doesnt seem to have been updated since first purchased. also what is the phone cradle and is it better to upgrade or is it easier to purchase an older phone that fits. sorry if im in the wrong area

Hi I have a 03 e320 which has the nokia 6310i cradle and phone and I changed phone for a visseo bluetooth and works great if that's any help

Hi, My 2004 S211 has version 4.1 installed. Can I update straight to V14 or are they any steps that are required first?

I thought so at first to but apparently the uk slk uses becker radio instead of siemens USA

The W220 589 04 22 00 as far as i can tell now is for Navigation update disc since navigation is a separate unit in the boot

thanks again for the assist, The SLK R171 is my first MB, just busy updating things first before deciding if doing any retrofits, however with Logic7 DSP and amp etc already installed will make it harder upgrading head unit to aftermarket

That is not a R171 head unit update disk. As you note there are different disks for USA and for EU/RoW NTG1 R171 head unit.

I am not sure what W220 589 04 22 00 is - its possibly an old superseded disk for S/CL/SL or a nav drive update (although nav drive updates are now on the nav disk)

If it is hard drive then how would I go about getting an update?

Assuming this is NOT a North American vehicle:
If it has green/red phone pick-up/hang-up buttons it is NTG2.5
If it has white buttons then it is NTG1. COMAND NTG1 will normally have a navigation drive in the boot as-well, although I think there are markets where the navigation drive in the boot is not there but it has the COMAND colour head unit.

Or PM me your VIN and i'll have a look at the data card and find out. But as you are in UK, has your system got a SDcard slot on it ? That identifies COMAND NTG2.5 too (in a W211 and some others)

Assuming your car is a W211, and the unit is COMAND APS NTG1, then the latest disc is version 2016/2017 (v17.0) MB P/N A211 827 04 01, available from here:
