Complete Newbie - E300 Cab Question

Hi All

I'm a first time Mercedes owner and have a question around the infotainment system. The car has the huge dual screen things but I was expecting the system to have Apple Carplay and a bit more interaction with my phone. There is no sign of CarPlay and when I plug the phone in via usb it just see's it as a USB device, not much else. Am I missing something ?

Also I signed up for a free Tidal account as part of the setup - how do it get this on the car ?

Hi - Thanks for the welcome, I do have the manual but the instructions are pretty simplistic such as plug the phone into the multimedia USB port which I have obviously tried

Carplay needs to be enabled either by a dealer or other means.
Tidal works in carplay, or is just seen as a source input when the phone is plugged in. You get album art names etc.
Male sure you are plugged into the usb port that has a smartphone icon.

No, command.co.uk who are forum sponsors can do it, I believe, and it can also be done from an update via the obd port - I used an ebay supplier vladimircdi and had no issues whatsoever.

Edit: Tidal still works well without carplay

I was under the impression that Carplay was included on the large screen options on the E Class (sorry I don't know the model)
