c230 estate
Hi everyone. I want to fit a different set of wheels and tyres to my '96 c230 estate

I looked at the spec and it currently has the standard 15x6.5 et37 195/65/15 wheels/tyres fitted.

I was looking at some 17x8 et33 205/40/17 and some 17x8.5 et35's but i'm getting confused on this offset thingy.

Can i only change like for like, ie wheels with the same offset or would the above be okay or a variation on the above.

Please can anyone help this newbie

Cheers

even if you have the same offset, the wider the wheel the less clearance you will have both on the inside and outside edge of the wheel. (against arch/suspension components)

The best way to do it is to check on one those comparison sites where you can check your standard wheel against what you would like, and then measure on your car whether you have the correct amount of clearance required for the wheel.

Online Wheel & Tyre Fitment calculator. Offset and Tyre Stretch

Thanks guys, that realy helped....:)
