Costco Tyres Bargain

Is costco part of the current michelin fuel cashback offer of £40?

I think that's a Kwik-Fit thing. Their prices aren't too bad as long as you order on line and don't just turn up at the door.

Form 2/11/09 to 22/11/09 there's 20% of Michelin fitted typres (have to buy 4) at Costco

Max purchase 8 Tyres.

Michelin Pilot Car, Energy, 4x4, Taxi or Van range

Thanks - I've been looking out for that for my daughter's car. Strangely her little Mitsubishi Colt has worn all 4 tyres pretty evenly.

Have you had a mailshot about it already?

Yes it arrived this morning. Our post office isnt on strike so we've been getting deliveries and collections (Sunninghill Post Office & Sorting centre) - I imagine less mail is reaching them then normal but they have no backlog there - hats off to them !!

Depends.

SWMBO got two Michelins at Kwikfit for about 10% less than Costco were quoting last week. So they seem to have some room to manoeuvre on the phone as well.

Whereas I got my last set at Costco - same Kwikfit was a lot higher and wouldn't budge at all.

I just wanted to say that I believe this is a new record for the oldest thread revival on a public internet forum!!!

It just goes to show how hard wearing Michelin tyres are then. ;) :D

They can do anything - it's just a matter of hoping that the person who answers the phone will be co-operative. Kwik-Fit own a fair number of other names too, for instance Harvey's Tyres which is local to me, and they are much more competitive straight off.

I also think Costco's tyre prices have crept up. Even their normal price was unbeatable a couple of years ago. I just checked Kwik Fit's online prices and they're a clear £10 cheaper than the last list prices I got from Costco for my tyres. So with a 20% offer they're better, but not much.

Mind you, I think I'd pay extra to avoid Kwik-Fit. I used to have to use them when I had a company car and I pretty well always came out cursing them.

Missing stuff

Just while we are on the subject of Costco.
I had 4x tyres fitted on 5-1-10 at the Chester branch.
When I got back to the car there was about £7.00 in change missing from my ashtray and a small pocket TV had gone missing from the glove box.
They investigated but supprise supprise it wasnt anything to do with them. I have reported it to the police and they are going to investigate.
I realise its my word against theirs and that nothing will happen (Their documentation does state that they are not responsible for goods left in the vehicle) Maybe this thread will save you guys and gals a little grief. My suggestion is that you ensure as I usually do at services etc that no valuables or money are / is left in the vehicle when put in to Costo etc for work.
Regards to all
Jay

It's worth reporting though as, if you are correct, it's unlikely to be a one-off event.

The set-up at Costco is a bit unusual for a tyre place where they insist on driving the car in & out themselves (and of course you generally go off shopping). I can't remember a fast-fit type place ever driving my car - you're normally directed around the workshop and even on to ramps yourself. Costco absolutely will not let you into the workshop (you can watch through a window).

If you want to use a friends Costco card he will have to go with you because the membership card has your photo on it
Bob
Friends membership card has my photo on it:rolleyes:?
