Cruise Control & Adverse Weather Conditions

Then it all comes down as to how you choose to read the sales books. Since I would never buy a manual I look at the words "standard with auto" and move on to the next bit like Distronic
Me too. I then notice that the auto with cruise is £1390 on the A class. Hardly standard!

And on the manual, cruise is extra at £205.

Wow Here's news. BMW make leather and satnav standard AND FREE. Yes all you need to do is choose the Luxury pack on the 5 series and leather comes standard and free (the pack is £2280).

Satnav is free and standard too. Just order the Media package and it includes satnav free and standard with that package. (the pack is £2365).

Err, why not try and think that the auto is £1390 and that you get the CC free.

Since they do not make an A class with a Auto box and no cruise you cant buy one any way

But by your token you would want the luxury pack without the leather

Not to distract from the original thread, which is quite interesting and very informative, no mention is/was made of the LIMITER function which I tend to use instead of CC as it fits both Speed limit criteria and negates the necessity to continuously engage/disengage CC (manually or by braking) in the less than ideal situations. Even on motorways, as has already been mentioned, driver behaviour of bunching and 'filling' safe distance gaps makes me use CC less and less in favour of the LIM function as one is more in control by either easing off the throttle or flooring it to kick-down to override the function, and NO it will not lurch forward due to the inherent lag (I am one of the unlucky ones where the SprintBooster did not work:() - end of the day, horses for courses, whatever suits the individual most...

Hmmmmm I mentioned this in thread no 3 ... its called speedtronic...I think its brill and should be mandatory on all cars

I am 100% with you on this, when going through a large town, no other thought required other than to get the car safely through avoiding all obstacles

I like pickle in my cheese sandwiches... is that an extra or free....

We are all getting in a right pickle here:bannana: :bannana:

Interesting question, it depends on the wording, for example

Cheese roll 50p
with pickle 55p
Or buy our luxury roll for 55p,
as you can see the luxury roll is the best buy  but if you buy that, you cant have the luxury roll without the pickle, and thats what causes all the confusion

Apologies... did not realise they were one and the same  (LIMiter=speedtronic)... must brush up on my terminology... agree with you on that one :o

Yup.... I'll just stick with the Ham instead.....:)

Is the bread fresh tho???

So that's it all cleared up then. If you order an auto as an option on a new MB, you get a cheese sandwich thrown in for free. Excellent!
