Cybertruck Owner Breaks Finger Trying To Show Car Is Safe

I do agree with the statement that says that what Apple and Tesla have in common is that they both created a cult following, where a significant proportion of their customers are taken by the brand at an emotional level.

But what I don't understand, is why this is a bad thing?

Jeremy Clarkson once said that no one needs anything other than a VW Golf. That was back in the nineties. Having driven a rental Prius for two weeks, I'd say that no one needs anything other than a Prius.

But 'needs' and 'wants' are two different things.

Most people do not buy their private vehicles in the same way that fleet buyers buy new vans for their companies. And it's a good thing.

Last 3 cars have been Tesla, he will not buy again as the latest low mileage one needs suspension work that they want £15k to fix!
You could take any car into any main dealer and come out with a silly estimate though

I can’t understand what could possibly be needed on his that adds up to £15k. Without seeing the estimate I’d take that with a pinch of salt.

Most suspension components are pretty good value to replace even at the Tesla service centres.

For example on my S, the labour cost to replace an entire suspension strut was 0.18 hrs FRT at £35.64 and the entire strut assembly was under £800. .

That's because it a load of Bollox. If you buy a product, be it, Apple, Tesla or whatever and your happy with it, of course your gonna defend it, from the cobblers that's spouted about them. 🙄🤬
Especially when the majority talking badly about them have never even driven one/owned one.

That’s great value
Also most diagnosis is done OTA, and for free.

As well as often waking up to new software updates bringing new features/toys…

My 2010 Kia Soul II Diesel (written off in 2018) came with 7 year warranty.

My Hyundai EV has 5 years warranty for the car, and 8 years warranty for the battery (the car is on a 4 year lease, though).

If you're worried about repair costs, buy a car from a brand that offers long warranties.

You'll get piece of mind, and more crucially, a more reliable car - they build them better when they know they'll need to fix them for free (and that's an advice I got from someone who used to work for a car manufacturer).

So long as it's Korean or Japanese and not a MG........

Maybe that includes the depreciation when it is in being repaired.

12mins to replace a strut , thats impressive even for a F1 team, they could teach Porsche a few things as their official workshop time for putting on their branded rubber gloves before they start work is more than that.

...Was talking to a chap on an aircraft a couple of weeks ago that has the business across the road from us.

The same applies to anyone who got badly stung by MB's abysmal AdBlue system.... they're unlikely to ever buy another MB again.

It obviously likely takes them longer, but that’s all they charged.

Pretty sure Elon Musk founded Tesla company simply to fund his "Two weeks" holiday to Mars.

Maybe he will have total recall when he is there.

Oh, there's plenty of recalls happening already 🤣

Typical easily-excited Elon Musk... releasing the Beta version as the final product then letting the customers suss out the bugs... :D

I guess that's what you get when you buy a new car model from the man who had three rockets blow up in midair before he had the first successful launch.............. 🤔
