Hi

I know Alfie is a well respected and frequent poster on this forum so i thought I'd try to contact him here.

I have just taken delivery of a new iphone 3gs. I want to be able to use it in my car. It is a 2006 CLS with telephone pre-wiring. It currently has a MB Sap V2 bluetooth puck and dvd comand.

I rang comand-online on Monday but was directed by their ansaphone to use the contact us form. I know they are busy but a 2 minute phone call would have been sooo much easier. :wallbash:

Anyway, I completed the form on Monday and have not received neither a call back nor an e-mail reply.

I know I am an impatient little so-and-so but I really just want to know if this is the correct product that I need.
ViseeO MB-2 (formerly MBU2000) UHI Bluetooth for Mercedes Benz
Comand Online Ltd :: Phone Cradles & Adapters :: ViseeO MB-2 (formerly MBU2000) UHI Bluetooth for Mercedes Benz

It's a minefield out their trying to get phones to work with our cars, and I just want to check if this is the right product and confirm what functionality I will get.

Also, I presume that I will NOT be able to use this configuration to actually play any music of the iphone?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Wow - what a quick response. Thank you!

So this will also allow you to play the music via the comand unit too?

If I go for this option am I then tied to an iphone, or will it still connect via bluetooth to other makes of phone in the future?

Also, is this the only way to make use of the cars external aerial?

Did you fit your's yourself or did comand-online fit it for you?

You will be tied to iPhone, the cradle only connects with the iPhone, either cradled (when it will use the car's ariel) or remotely, both options are actually bluetooth btw. The seperate iPod connection cable will allow the iphone (in iPod mode) to be controlled via the steering wheel buttons. You must have the iPod interface fitted as well.

I had COMAND-ONLINE fit my interconnect cable, it's quite fiddly and depending where the iPod interface is could require trim to be removed...

No it only works with the iPhone (but would you really want another phone?) I don't know enough about command to say but if you have iPod control now you will definetly be able to use the iPhone capability there are 2 different adapter cables. I have not fitted mine yet as my car (new e class coupé) is not delivered yet. But I have the cradle to media interface cable and I will fit it myself (I'm experienced in car hifi install) but command will fit it for you. I'm sure Alfie or Richard will be along shortly. By the way the cradle is a perfect fit for the 3gs

Hi,

Firstly, I am sorry you have not had a reply. I have been through all the incoming messages and cannot find any that we have not replied to. If you would like to send it through again I will happily prioritise it.

In any event as you have comand in the car (w219 CLS) you can have the ipod interface fitted. You will also need the iphone 3G(S) cradle This simply connects to your UHI connection in the centre armrest. You will also need the iphone phone cradle to ipod kit interface cable this allows the music from the iphone to be routed via the ipod kit to the comand system. You will get full control of the phone and ipod functions from the steering wheel with tracks/artists/playlist etc all selectable from the steering wheel and displayed in the instrument cluster.

As you have been inconvenienced by a slow response we would happily offer you a discount by way of an apology.

Hope this helps,

I'm sure Happy Bunny will be erm,, a happy bunny again.. :D
