I have just fitted some DRLs to my S320 which I purchased off ebay and they are in my opinion brilliant. The Item number is :200780869963 and they were only £15 with x8 super bright LEDs in each unit.

I was thinking of this but thought you get errors. Jotter22 is right, images, like me you need to see others do it to have some confidence to proceed yourself.

W220 or W221? Tapped into side lights or fog lights?

W221. Well if thats the case its well worth getting a set as mine S320 TDI has no LED lighting at the front and they personalize your baby. It`s just I have seen posts with error problems when connecting anything to the S range.

Just looked at them, my immediate thought is that they are just too cheap to be any good.

Will hopefully have a picture shortly, they are on a w220, I fitted them because I wanted to, simple as that! I have no errors and they are not tapped into any lighting circuit! They are connected to a terminal in the bulk head fuse box with in inline fuse, the terminal is only live on the second turn of the ignition key (hence no errors), they are super bright and well worth the money. I actually saw some factory fitted DRLs on a Mercedes and could not tell the difference with the ones I purchased so I am really pleased. I've never seen these on another make of car other than Mercedes. effbee584, don't knock em until you've tried them. The overall feel and quality is great and they do look really bright.

I will en-devour to get a picture on here ASAP.

Due to the outside temp sensor on the passenger right hand side black plastic insert I opted to fit them further inwards, straight and decided to use double sided sponge to mount them instead of messing with plastic bolts and metal nuts etc., as seen in the ebay photo's.

Many may not like where I have situated them but actually they look quite good in my opinion. I must get a picture on here immediately, so let's see what tomorrow brings.

Pictures now attached and in future I'll add them at the time of the post.

I think they look quite good.
Not the usual ebay tacky rubbish.
Did they come with a control box too?

I think they would have looked better had you put them the other war round and in the slots for the front fog lights!..But each to his own!
Tony.

Thanks for the pics, you have obviously done a good job, the look would not do for me, but delighted for you. As for their quality, time will tell.

No control box although they did come retail boxed with wiring, instructions and all fittings. They are available from another supplier but slightly higher priced. I took my chances as the seller accepts returns so I had nothing to lose really.

Your quite right, time will tell. I hope they do last though. Different scenario but I have completely changed 80% of my house lighting to LEDs and I have always gone for the better quality ones and my 5w GU10s are brighter than 50w Halogens and have been installed for nearly two years without any problems.

These DRLs do positively feel and look great quality, I'll probably end up eating my words if they fail within 6 months.

Thanks to all for taking an interest and I do value what you guys say.

Hey Tony, I was actually going to install them the other way around however when I saw them factory fitted on a 2011 Mercedes the same way as mine are fitted I thought fitting them the other way around would entice people to say "You've fitted them the wrong way round" so I opted to go with the norm.

It's more a case of they don't suit the curvy style of a car from your period, would be much more convincing as a simple straight line.

Well done for working out a simple ans successful way of connecting them, lots of people seem interested but always back down due to the electrics.

Believe it or not I very nearly purchased the straight version and was also considering still buying them and running them under the number plate area. Just thinking out loud at the moment though.
