Hi guys. I posted a topic earlier regarding a humming sound i'm hearing and thinking it was something to do with the AC. But now im very sure its not the AC as i have had it off for the past day. Im hearing what can only be described as a fan which is turning on and off every now and again and its comming from the mid section/rear of the car. Its a pretty deep "hum" and lasts for about 2 minutes. probably occurs twice on a half hour journey. I would just like to know if this is normal or not as i dont want to cause more damage by keep driving it. Its a 1999 C240 sport.

Thanks.

This could be the electric fans cutting in, they come on at 100c and do not stay on that long normally

sounds like fuel pump?

yeah it sounds like its comming from that area. but it sounds pretty loud for a fuel pump. could it need replacing?

Either replacing or the rubber mounts are past it. Also the braclet could be bent and rubbing on the cars underside. Have a look underneath and remove the plastic covering (right hand side).

Bracket......whoops:crazy:

Change the fuel filter first.....usually a clogged filter makes the pump overwork.
