Hi - two bits of advice please. I'm hoping to refurb all my wheels and get the car properly detailed sometime in the spring. First of all, how much should I budget on spending to get the detailing done? There is just no way I'm going to manage taking it on myself right now, just too much "life" happening!

Second of all, any recommendations to the NW of London (M25/M40 region preferably) would be kindly received. :thumb:

I guess the answer is a bit like the length of a piece of string?

I suggest you find a good detailer and discuss the options.

Are you looking for an "enhancement" detail where a glaze with fillers will be used to mask any paint defects, or are you after paint correction where the defects will be polished out? Machine polishing takes time and hence can add significantly to the cost.

Are you looking for a wax final protection or a longer lasting "nano" type sealant? A good detailer will offer both and explain the benefits.

Try detailing world website where detailers ply their trade, and ask for testimonials.

As with most things you will get what you pay for.

Good luck

..Oh and make sure they are insured

Thanks, will do. I guess I don't really know what I want yet, but the paint could do with a bit of life putting back in it! It's had some spray work over the years, which has been done very well, and there are some stone chips, which I've touched up as best I can. There's a small wheel-arch dent, which I need to get knocked out (no paint damage). In other words, it's not perfect, so no point going OTT.

It would be nice to get it all cleaned down as thoroughly as is cost effective and then a durable coating on top that'll make it easy for someone less skilled as myself to keep just washed and waxed! Just trying to budget for all this in the new year currently ...

Count on £200 - £400 for an enhancement. £500 - £700+ for a correction. Ish......

Enhancements will make a huge difference in the appearance of your car. It depends on the age, value and your budget as to whether or or it would be worth going as far as a correction.

Those prices won't include repairing stone chips, PDR or your alloys being refurbed.

HTH.

You can spend from £50 to £5000. I run a bodyshop in Acton, if you in the area pop by and I will have a look at it for you.

To be frank I wouldn't bother going for full on paint correction as it'll cost alot more then a *regular* enhancement detail while not looking all that much greater to the average eye.

If you're a perfectionist and you take real care washing your car etc then fair play go for a full correction but bare in mind it won't be cheap depending on how far you want to go.

I personally do a few jobs here there for friends and family and have only ever done a full correction twice on my previous Corrado's. It was indeed very time consuming hence the high prices.
