Hello guys,

I'm back with usual odd questions, but I'm confident that some of you can help me thorugh this tricky issue I'm deal with.

But come in and let say that the above mentioned interface has been connected to my retrofitted comand 2.0. It seemed that every wire was connected. Well, when turned on the comand and pressed the TV button I got the screen blue and a message warning me about the shutting down the display while driving. Ok, I said it' normal but when the s Video ha been connected, I got no images on the screen but only audio.

And there's no way to change settings on the adapter by pressing steering wheel buttons. Then, on the adapter wiring harness one socket is vacant.

Did I have miss can video? I have no socket that seems to fit the one is missing.

Some of you can help me?

Thanks in advance.

have you connected up your speed sensor....? the comand will also check for the parking brake it think too. Ensure the brake is off and the speed sensor is at 0.

SilverSaloon:

I'm a bit confused. My car is a C 200 CDI SW 2003 pre facelift. At the beginning the car was equipped with an Audio 10 sound system then, a bit later, I have retrofitted the car with a comand 2.0 dx. It's still working well. During the Comand installation I've had to connect the Can Bus line (that was already present in the car) to be able to use the steering wheel buttons as well. But this was ok. Some months ago I've bought the Dension Gateway 500 (from Ipod Car Kit UK) to manage Ipod in the car sound system. And even this device is working well although I had to bring the car to the dealer to configure the optical ring. But also this issue was easily solved. Now, the boy wants to watch his preferred DVDs when traveling and I have decided to buy that multimedia adapter. Ok, now something is going wrong with it but I honestly didn't understand what.
As said before, the car is Can Bus equipped and it doesn't need (I think) any speed signal apart from its original can bus. I say this because of the connectors that came with the adapter. I had to disconnect C2 plug from Comand and connect it to the adapter, then reconnect the outlet connector from the adapter to the C1 and C2 connectors to the Comand. Doing this way, when pressing TV button, I can see this message to the main comand screen: For safety reasons display will be shut down while the car is moving. On the cluster display I can see this message: TV0 AV, but even pressing the up down buttons, nothing happens. Some doubts are coming up about the device itself...
If I drive the car or park it with or without parking brake I still read the same message on the screen. It's only possible to ear audio but no video is visible.
I don't really know if some wire is missing or wathever.
What do you mean when say set the speed sensor to 0?

Thanks for helping me in this troubles.

Marco

My answer may seem simple, but are you sure the dvd player or whatever other source youre feeding video from is actually outputting video?

I have connected the dvd output to another display and it works well.

I got the schematic diagram and discovered what the vacant plug is for. It's the CDC connector which is unused in my car.

Still searching for a solution...
