Not sure if this is in the correct place please move if not :)

Anyway, i tried resetting the analog clock and to do this i have to go and do via the steering wheel controls on the digital clock which works fine, so i set the time and pressed reset and the analog clock just goes around and then stops at the wrong time, someone said it could be set to a different time zone but i assumed the clock would copy the digital time - help?.. is the analog one broken? always sets about 6hrs ahead of what ive set the digital clock too. hope this makes sense. thanks.

If it has command head unit try adjusting the time through the settings menu

Im a little surprised that your car doesnt auto adjust the clock..
Mine alters itself for winter and summertime and also with the GMT Pips..
Its literally spot on to the second..
As suggested prviously, if you have COMAND navigation unit fitted then make sure that this facility is enabled as it will save lots of hassle twice a year

Older versions of Comand don't have the auto adjust feature. On mine, it's done through the 'settings' screen, which then updates the analogue clock on the dash.

Mine did this and the analogue was showing a different time from the digital.
I could "force" the analogue to be right by setting Comand to the wrong time but as soon as it acquired satellite signals Comand corrected itself and the analogue clock was wrong again.
The solution ? A complete new instrument cluster for £1,000 +
Thank goodness for an MB used car warranty !

I dont think she has comand as you wouldnt be able to change the time in the instrument cluster at all.

Sounds like the analogue clock is faulty... cluster faults on the W209 are common - can be sent off for repair but then you wont have a cluster in your car!

sorry, havent been around for a few days and just seen all your replies, i will have a look at the comand system and see whats what, i just briefly read about going through the settings via steering wheel controls and changing that way, definately wont be paying 1k plus for a clock, pockets are penniless with christmas looming!. thanks again for all your replies.

Did you check the video I posted?
Hi yes, that is what i done previously but the clock just spins and sets at the wrong time i am gonna go back and double check all the am/pm bit but figuring it would registar the same anyway but i will try one more time to just be certain. Thanks :)

Hi,

I have a W211 with a NTG1 Comand unit. But the comand Unit is removed for repair. Is there any way I can change the analog clock & Date without it???

Thanks,

JCL

Dont think so. It will be set manually from the comand unit. Oddly enough on the older CD based system it sets automatically when the FM is turned on.

:-(

thanks...

I'm evaluating also the replacement of the NTG1 for a Dynavin Unit but they tell me from support that althoug the unit works with the MOST bus and the MFD, the clock is not available for setup from the unit (who has a separate clock & date system)...

sigh...

Very mixed reviews on the Dynavin. You would probably be better off with a Pioneer/Alpine/Kenwood or similar.

yes... I'm aware of that... But do you have some unit from either one of these with the same capabilities of the Dynavin?...

sigh...

What functions do you want? They all have models with bluetooth, satnav, DAB, Ipod control and parking camera etc. They are however more castly than the Dynavin but I think you do get what you pay for.

I need bluetooth (A2DP, phone book access), DVD/CD playback (or at least MPp4, avi, mp3, etc. file playback) usb connection (USB pen & Android Phone charging a plus), parking camera (I would like to install an Alpine HCE-C305R Active ViewTM camera system), RDS Radio (2 tunners would be a plus), MOST integration (MFDisplay & steering buttons), maybe DVB-T tunner integration (exit for headrest monitors would be a plus).

Android & WiFi or 3G connection is a plus so that I can use my existent satnav app (& others...).

SATNAV is not required. I'm using my phone GPS apps for some time with good results (Android, Sygic & others).

Ipod & the like connections not needed.

Now you know why I like the Dynavin option. Only if it were made with better components or by one of the "big" brands...

Isn't the aftermarket wide enough for the interest of better manufacturers?!?!

Cheers,

JCL
