Hi,
Can anyone out there please help identify what this dipstick tool is for exactly?
It's part number: 168 589 01 21 00. It's got a green handle on it.
I initially thought it was an ATF dipstick for some models of A class, but there's something in the back of my mind saying it was for engine oil?
Does anyone know please?
Thanks,
Lawrence

I'm pretty sure that the oil dipsticks are red/orange

From Google :

Oil dipstick tool for automatic gearboxes type 722.550, 722.7XX and 722.8XX, and manuel gearboxes type 716.5XX
Inserted into standard transfer tube on your car, and oil level can be read.

Looks like a gearbox oil (ATF fluid) dipstick.

Thanks for replies Gentlemen :)
Has anyone else had experience with this MB special tool?
Cheers,
Lawrence
