Disappointed with my car. Respect to the 335d!

I've come across two BMWs in my CLK63 that stand out in my mind I was so impressed with the acceleration to 100 on them both. The first a gold 335d on the A1 that took a shine to me. I had the advantage but he never left my rear I just started pulling away at a speed I'd rather not admit to ! It had obviously been modified just looking how it sat low down and quite menacing even in the lame BMW gold. The other a white 135M on the A45 Coventry he was looking for a dog fight and was driving like a man possessed.I had to give it all I had to pull away then onto the M69 realised how too fast I was going on an early evening so decided to let him pass quickly followed by a Seat FR who wanted to join the fun.BMW diesel or petrol are formidable machines it's all about personal choice.The 135 M did sound quite nice on high acceleration when I dropped the window but nothing like the roar of the AMG.

The old 335d is 286bhp stock. I'd imagine 330-350 achievable with a map. That's headline numbers but the torque on those things will be pretty damn impressive.

The above cars are mine the red car is my Luego Viento M3 which has been remapped and de-catted it pushes out around 320bhp it weighs around 800kg so the power to weight ratio is pretty good. if you like acceleration then this car will hit 0.60mph in 3.2 seconds and go on to around 140mph I have never gone faster than this as it gets pretty light after 135mph so just guessing the top speed, rev limiter has also been raised to allow 8200rpm before limiting.

Ive not been beaten away from the lights YET lol.

My everyday car is my S350 cdi Bluetec which I love so it looks like ive got the best of both worlds comfort and Class....and something that gets off its ass.

Last week I was challenged twice by BMW drivers in Germany, in one afternoon. I think these were M3 old models, didn't see the rears to confirm. No one else wanted to race with me, just BMW 3 drivers.

Unfortunately my car is limited to 155mph so I could have been left behind but motorway traffic saved me from this. There was no space to go above 200km/h.

There are good leasing deals for 335d right now, so expect to see more of them on the road.

I couldn't get past a debadged Beemer 3 Series in my old W126 recently. It wouldn't get out of the way for about 20 miles on an empty motorway in the outside lane and then went hell for leather to show me a lesson. Didn't work, but i could only just keep up. I remembered the registration and checked on the DVLA website when I got home because I was curious what it had under the bonnet. It was a 330D. Hmm yeah it went well, i felt some respect.

On a different note, I 'beat' a late model Mini Cooper a while ago in Devon. It had a roof spoiler and he had his mates in the car posing, didn't like me passing & tried to pass me after but I completely lost him on the bendy undulating road. Guess what I was driving?
