Anyone had any experience of dms automotive, they advertise in auto express, they say they can get me a 40hp gain for my E63 AMG. Is this right, and is it completly undetectable by merc as they say?
Cheers guys.

Errr, why does an E63 AMG need another 40hp? and would you actually notice it anyway?

I'm just totally addicted to power, and have taken my amg to the drag strip, and just want to keep bettering my time, sad I know, but thats me I'm afraid.

Fair enough, would it not make more sense to get a track day car?

A Noble or something like it, plenty around at sensible money and you're not tearing up your pride and joy...

Much discussed on other forums, personally I would say that statement alone is complete rubbish. Of course it can be detected. It may not flag it on a regular connection to the STAR machine at the dealer, but if they wanted to investigate your car, it WOULD be found.

But then you have to buy another expensive car for road use so costing you more money, what other car offers supercar performance on a drag strip whilst still giving you near s-class luxury on the road ;)

Or just speak to Brabus...

DMS are very good at what they do - not the cheapest but probably one of the best.

The brabus kit just seems far too expensive for a gain that is 15bhp less than dms. As for getting another car for the track, I'm in a wheelchair following an accident a few years ago, and need hand controls to drive. So it is auto's only for me + the car has to be easy to get in and out of and also have room for a wheelchair in the back.
Also I have this one incredibly nice car and could not really afford another mega expensive exotic car. The merc is everything I need in a car, fast, luxurious practicle for my gear (it's the estate) ect, and the big thing I really like is that unless you know what you are looking for, it is very discreet.

Why does it need another 40bhp? Surely the answer is something like "because it can be done". :)

Whilst I'm no expert about chipping the usual caveats about insurance, warranty, and engine life would still apply.

Well I was guessing if you have an £80,000 road car, then money isn't exactly a problem...buy a track day car that will be faster and more suited to running up Santa Pod.

If the OP was asking how to tune his 15 year old C180 sport it would have been a silly suggestion......

You could just wait for the supercharged E63 to come out and trade up ;)

Hello,

When I was on the BMW forum with funny enough BM, lots of people had their 535d's dms remapped.

One chap took his for service and written across the service book was 'This car has been remapped'

Now I don't know how this would affect the warranty but apparently he was told it was hidden when mr bmw look....

You pays your money and takes your chance me thinks..

What times does it do at the moment?

It's doing 13'1 and 108 mph.
I've actually had this car, my cls and for a very short time I had a cl63amg and they all did near identical times. For some strange reason, the guys in the usa are getting into the mid 12's, not sure why, as we have higher octane fuel, we should be beating them. The only reason I can think is that york race way where I go has a quite shoddy surface.

www.kleemann.dk might be another tuner, but as they're MB specific (like Brabus) and offer a range of tuning options it will inevitabley be more expensive that an all-marque re-mapper like DMS.

Kleemann have high-flow manifolds available already for the 6.2 AMG motor, and if I remember right a turbo conversion was on the cards.

See more here: http://www.kleemann.dk/site/Main/performanceproducts/item9

Ive had my E55 mapped by DMS not so long ago and also de-limited as i was at the vmax in bruntingthorpe in november.

I cant comment if i could feel the power increase as i also changed the crank pulley to add more boost.Dms are well known and are also quite heavy priced for that reason.

N/A Engines will benefit from a remapp but obviously will not show as much as opposed to a forced induction unit.

Theres a certain member on here "Evdok" that does live remapping and can answer any queries you may have.

Yeah, I got the cls and although it was a loverly car it just didn't have the room I needed for all my gear in the boot, the cl came next and as much as I liked the looks, I didn't like the drive, it felt kind of lazy after my cls, like a dog that doesn't want to walk until it see's a cat, then shoots off like crazy. The estate is just like the cls, a big dog that you are having to hold back on the lead, which is the way I like it.

I'll pm him and see what he suggests, cheers.
