My CLK is coming up for a service B when it will reach nearly 70k on the clock.

Looking through the service book (all main dealer) its never had its plugs changed.

A local Merc specialist (Bmerc in Barnet) want £600 for a full service incl plugs and so does another specialist in Ware, Herts.

My local main dealer wants £990 for the same service but just under £600 without the plugs.

Basically everyone wants between £250 to £400 for the plugs.

Question -

The car is running perfectly so do I leave the plugs for another few months and just get a standard service done?

Will not having the plugs done for another 6 months cause damage to other parts of the engine?

I am pretty sure the plug change interval on your car is 60k miles. As you have done more than this I would bite the bullet and have it done now rather than later. Better to be safe than sorry.

We charge £225 for the plug change and £240 for a B service on your car so hope that gives you an indication.

Thanks

I'd happily get it serviced with you and have a weekend away in Stratford upon Avon or Warwick with the missus but I'd need two take two cars so that we could get around whilst the cars being serviced.

I guess that Nuneaton to Stratford upon Avon with luggage is a bit much on a mountain bike!!!
