Hi
I looking at picking up some facelift model 210, 17" 5 hole 'avantgarde' style rims for my W202.
Does anyone have them on their car and can post a pic as I am not sure what they look like.
Is there any problem fitting them to a 202?
Thanks all

HI mark , ive got them on my W210 . No idea what size the wheel is as ive never had them off personally :) Tyre is 235/45/17 Y if that helps.

Its a nice wheel and is diamond finished rather than painted :) I actually got them for nothing cause the dealer forgot to put them onto the original order form :) They hold the road like anything with sports suspension. Like Glue

Sorry, they are not the wheels he is referring to.
When they facelifted the car, the avantgarde wheels he is referring to are almost the same as the early style ones, just with a bigger hole...
I will get pics.

Erm , those are the 5 hole avantgarde upgrade wheels from the factory for the 2002 Facelift T210

Fuzzer, yes you are correct, but when you see the pics you will understand.

I think yours were an upgrade, these are the standard ones.

Ricky, that looks very similar to Nick's posting, the only difference being that the bolt holes are in line with the spokes on Nick's post where as on yours the bolt holes are in line with the gaps between spokes. I presume one set are genuine MB alloys and the other are lookalikes? Either way, both different from Jason's wheels which I actually prefer from the whole bunch, maybe that's cos I'm seeing them on a car rather than unmounted.

Steve , my wheels have the boltholes too :) SO , maybe the genuine ones have it and the copies don't :)

Ricky , yes i see now. Basically the standard wheels enlarged... apologies :)

I still prefer wheels that are "more hole than alloy", if only MB made a decent 3 (thin) spoke alloy. I guess the physics won't allow for it though.

The ones I posted a pic of are "lookalikes", but are probably made by the same manufacturer, it'll be Ronal or Rondell or someone :) . The wheels are actually quite different, the ones ricky posted have an oval "hole" between the spokes, the one I posted has a corner between the edges of the spokes and the rim.
I also like the ones posted by Fuzzer, I got a price for them from the stealership and they're not too expensive either, although I have seen sets of replicas for £699 with tyres :) .

Sorry to go slightly off topic again *sigh* I seem to be doing that alot of late...

But, what are the teeny little holes that are equi-spaced between the bolt holes? It seems that _ALL_ MB alloy wheels, whether genuine or fake have this design feature. Something I had always wondered about. I thought maybe one of you guys might know. Heh maybe as Pammy says I need to get out more :p

So do BMW rims, don't know why! Looks pretty I suppose but they're a major dirt-trap most of the time, and really tricky to clean!

They're supposed to help with mounting. In the toolkit is an aluminium threaded "thingy" like a screwdriver. This gets inserted through the hole and screws into the hub. Never used mine as it's easier just to rest the wheel on my legs. ;)

I think!

That threaded thing is supposed to go into a wheelbolt thread through the holes that the bolts usually go through, so you can line the wheel up to put the other bolts in! The holes that Steve is talking about are decorative only AFAIK :)

Doh! I retract everything I've ever said :hidinginaboxsmilie:

Yes nick posted replica wheels.
The genuine version of what he posted is a 7Jx16" wheel, with a 208 part number (also fitted to 210).

The one i posted was a 7 1/2Jx17" wheel and they have a 210 part number. These are the later versions...
They also have a smooth lip on the outer edge and the face is more flat, fuzzer's are even more flat again.

Shude is correct as far as i know regarding the holes.
