Hello all. Due to the recent horrible weather my drivers side window started leaking in rain today. Upon closer inspection it seems as if my window seals are perished and are in desperate need of replacing. Does anyone know where i will be able to buy new window and door seals for my C124?

I would think it would have to be a dealer. A local vehicle trimmer will have something similar but i believe you're best with originals for something like that.

Seals are available albeit special order items from Germany. Recently i've ordered all rubber seals for the coupe.

The outer seal the OP is having an issue with is £66.50 for one.

..not cheap.

I can post unit prices of various types of seals if it will prove useful...

WOW £66 for one seal!! If you can post the unit prices that would be cool, also where did you order them from in Germany?

By Germany I meant the dealer will order it from the main warehouse over there if they dont have it at your local one or have stock in MK.

Here's the list

Take a seat....

You could try a wipe over with some spray on silicon grease. Spray onto a paper towel or rag and wipe generously along the rubber. You can get the spray in Halfords.

The above was pre prepped work. I researched bits on EPC myself got the part numbers for which I exactly needed and presented them with it which made mines and their job easier.

Imagine if i'd told them to look up all those bits! They would probably have told me to Naff off!!!

Silicon spray is the business apparently when it comes to maintenance of rubbers ive heard.

Have I read that correctly - you've just spent £1.4k on rubber seals! :o

Ouch!

I recently bought a reasonable 1995 W124 E320 coupé for a friend for less than half that amount - dedication or what? :)

I hope they offered some discount on an order of that amount :)

Thse expensive details must make the car look so much 'better' though I agree that's a rare bill for dedication.

No way did I pay that price! Let's say I was very pleased when I actually got told what they'll be able to sort out. After all they had to after all the custom I've given them previously for my motor! It also helps if you know the geezer behind that screen! :)

Agree its a rare bill and one thing that will never need replacing for the entire life of the car. In all honesty the rubbers on it at the moment will last for its entire life. Its not one of those bits that actually go belly imo.

The car will be going to the body shop down the line and putting the old rubbers back on would just be cheating.

If I look at the difference however with some of the more expensive seals and rubbers on the list compared to the wear over 18 years on the motor right now, there is a massive difference. Take for example the 'velour' type material that goes from the front to back windows pillars. That's one piece. Usually they split in between where the front window edge lines up to the rear qtr window. The velour is nice smooth and fresh!

Forest Fine' is a Co that used to supply older Merc with seals - west sussex

the lost you posted and prices appears to have been edited out - do you still have the information as looking at a 1992 C124 which also need entire set of window seals and would be grateful of any information..
