Door locks not reacting

I have a 55 plate C200 CDI, both of the remote keys will only work when up against the sensor on the drivers door handle, and recently that is only occasional.

The local main dealer has confirmed that it is not the remotes themselves.

Has anyone come across this and know of a cure?

It seems the infra red is working, but not the rf.

Check for a blown fuse first and fore most.

In the rear fuse box.

I've checked the fuses and they are all okay, is it one of the switches?

Is the radio reception poor, or, is the radio reception not poor?

The radio reception is very poor, I was told that it was probably the receiver box in the boot had broken - are the two connected?

I know there is a connection alright but I don’t know enough about it to be advising you.
