I have noticed to my disappointment that the interior motion sensor for the alarm on my E Cab (2011) is not active while the roof is down, I appreciate that this saves false alarms etc but I would like to have the backup of this feature on the rare occasions when I leave the car unattended with the roof down, the owners manual states:

Interior motion sensor

If the interior motion sensor is primed, a visual and audible alarm is triggered if movement is detected in the vehicle interior while the vehicle is locked. This occurs if someone reaches into the vehicle interior, for example.

To activate:

Make sure that:
the side windows are closed.
the panorama sliding sunroof is closed (Coupé).
This will prevent false alarms.

Cabriolet: make sure that the roof is closed.

Lock the vehicle with the key or KEYLESS-GO.
The interior motion sensor is primed after approximately 30 seconds.

Cabriolet: in some countries, the interior motion sensor is primed even if the soft top is open. The vehicle should only be parked with the soft top closed, however, to prevent insects or falling leaves, for example, from causing false alarms.

Does anyone know if there is a way to enable this functionality through a tech menu somewhere?

Many thanks in advance for any help with this.

From the lack of responses I'm guessing there is no way to enable this.
