E Class W211 - Sat Nav Unit

Chaps im looking into buying a E320cdi its a 2003 52 plate.
It has the APS small screen sat nav unit in it, but does not seem to want to eject a disc or take one in, guess mechanism is either stuck or knackered, any ideas on how to fix this, or is it a replacement unit that is required?
If it is a replacement i think i prefer the larger screen unit, does anyone know if it will fit straight in, and where i could possibly get one from? ebay?

Sounds like the head unit is broken. I would negotiate a significant discount for that as its going to cost a few hundred pounds to replace it.

If you can get the full chassis number and post it here we can then tell you exactly what is in the car and how easy it is to upgrade it to comand.

That car is a model year 2003 with no UHI phone prewire. It has Audio 50 APS so upgrading to comand is fairly straight forward. A lot less work than if it had Audio20 CD.

Interestingly the car was supplied in Belgium for the French (or French speaking) market.

For a reasonably competant person this can be done fairly easily as most of the wiring is in place.

The car does not have parktronic so the mounting brackets for the Navigation processor wont be present. To do the job properly you will need;

Navigation processor/drive
Comand head unit
Mounting plates
A couple of looms
New boot carpet for the left hand side.

Pricing will depend on where you go for the parts. Ebay is a possible but things like the looms, mounting plates and boot trim you will need to go to the main dealer or a specialist.

OK im fairly confident on fitting and wiring as i have done quite a bit in the past.
Question is where is the best place to get the above from? any recommendations?
As you have also mentioned parktronice, that is something i would also like to fit, any advice on it, seen some after market stuff on the net....

I recently bought a MB E270 CDI 2005 (W211). I beleive it has the phone prewired cos the functions are available on the CD head unit as well as the steering wheel. Can someone help me determine whether I can install a Sat Nav headunit and the SAP V3 UHI unit in my car. I'm clueless when it comes to these type ot techi stuff.

Im from Portugal, I have a w211 from the year 2003, I have a audio 50 APS with navigation on the head unit and prewired phone on the center of the arm rest.

Is it possible to make the change to a command unit with the big scren, would it be the command ntg1 our another ?

Will the unit just be plug and play?

If you could give me and idear it would be great
