I agonised over engine choice having driven all options. The 250cdi was the best compromise of power and economy. Plenty of strong power. At present with only 6k on the clock has returned an accurate 48mpg.

Would you say it feels faster than the c220cdi Estate you had? Or about the same given the extra weight?

No doubt, much more acceleration and quieter. Blessed with E Class comfort and quality and quietness with agility of a C Class. The much better seats and driving experience etc a great improvement over the C.
