E270 CDI will not Unlock after a short journey

mushaq now has the same fault.

Not easy though I know as many cars that have had a faulty SAM as have had the EIS switch, both very expensive

Is this is design fault? or could these problems be caused by badly updated software?

I find it difficult to belive that these can be caused by normal wear and tear in modern cars, where most of the controls are solidstate.

Any experts done analysis on this?

The main problem seems to be two or three manafactures make control units (bosch, temic, siemens) and they have to all communicate with each other and somtimes not sucessfully. (MB are working on this)

It is not wear and tear its just one small component going wrong inside a circuit board normally.

Just been for a walk along the beech to think about this one.

The EIS circuit can be damaged if the key is left in the switch for long periods. we have had many cases of that.

You can exit STAR incorrectly and cause these problems, many car leave after a service with many faults of this nature.

To cut down on the search can you post the first 6 VIN numbers

This is begining to make sense why after the car goes in for service, it comes back with problems like these.

Where can I find the VIN number?

(Sorry only ever open the bonet to fill the washer water :) )

It's on the dashboard visible through a little clear window in the black part of the windscreen.

I have been all through the data for the 006-206-606 and nothing shown for EIS problems or locking and just one of Johns pages posted earlier

Water leaks can upset the rear SAM but thats it.

They are going to have to put it on the Star to see if there is a fault code.

Sorry nothing else

Can anyone recommend a place (in London area) to get a diagnostics done, is there an idependent person or company who can run the Star diags?

I don't trust the official dealers anymore.
