E270 engine troubles

(I like the MB diesel engines too) :)

but the electronics managements are not made by mercedes!!! ;)

Err no! The whole of the engine management system is made by Bosch.

How many audis do you know that had electronic management problems!?

Diesel engine are Audi

And yes VAG group cars do suffer the same if not more. You don't hear about it here because this is an MB forum, but if you cross to the other side.........

A friend of mine is the warranty manager for a chain of Audi garages. I told him about my engine problem and he replied Audi have loads of electronic problems and failures, keeps him so busy he's got to take on another person.

He's also said many times he would never buy a new Audi (especially not with the multi-tronic auto gear box which frequently fail).

I forgot to mention, I've done 700 miles since thursday up to North Wales and back (on one tank of diesel :)) and the car has been fine :D

Please educate the owner of a simple old car (non diesel).........

What sort of injector problem could cause the limp home solution in the EMS?

Also I would have though injectors would be good for 100K miles.

My mom have an 98 A6 2.5 v6 TDI with 160000 miles and untill now, not a single problem...
Also, one of my father friends have also an 01 A6 2.5 with 125000 miles and also any problems yet (multi-tronic version)!!!

My father allways had mercedes with petrol engines and also with no problems untill now, but now it will try Audi, because of the MB diesel engines

I used to have a 99 320d BMW and it was allways on the dealer and my cousin have also a 320d of 99 too and it got no problems, but now I'm in love with my c220 cdi coupe :D

Its all a case of luck

My mates company runs a large fleet of Audi's. They will not use Audi again as they have had so many problems ( mostly electronic ) and are moving over to BMW and Mercedes. As Richard says the Multi-tronic box seems problematic.
