I've been talking about it for almost a year, now the time has come to arrange my remap :-)

Going to be speaking to both GAD and MSL tomorrow.

GAD are nice and close to me but I don't believe they have a dyno

MSL have a dyno but it's 3hrs each way!!!

Looking for feedback from customers of each.

Thx

Steve

Dyno before and after is a must for a remap - how else do you confirm you've spent your money wisely :dk:.

You could ask gad if theys a dyno nearby that could be used? I had msl do mine as its closer to me and has dyno in house

Cannot speak for GAD, but MSL are excellent and I'd trust their work 100%. It is an advantage having a dyno run before and after to actually see what gains are made.

You don`t really have to pay for the use of a dyno when you can compare your 0-60 figures to bhp per tonne.

If the motor turned out significantly less than the remap company says it produces on their own dyno then they would lose custom instead of doing well?

Yeah dyno isn't a deal breaker just a plus, heard a lot of good things about MSL but not heard anything good or bad about GAD

But GAD have some very tasty cars in for tuning

I think eurocharged in Watford would be an option too

I always think not hearing good or bad about a firm is good. Based on the assumption bad news travels alot quicker than positive.

No dyno would not bother me if I was putting on a tried and tested map. However, it is nice to get a run done before and after, just to know what's what.

MSL need no introduction from me but they are good and will look after you.

I'm afraid the above theory doesn't work unless you actually know what BHP your car is producing to start with.
For example the 55k engine can produce anything from the quoted 469bhp up to, and over 500bhp from the factory. There is over 30 bhp difference on two supposedly identical engines:rolleyes:.

If you dyno the car immediately before the remap and again afterwards you can see the immediate increase.
I'm suspicious of any company saying, Yeah this map will add another 50hp without concrete before and after figures of the car on the day.

You miss my point entirely.

When you have a remap you know the approx. bhp that their map will give and so you have an idea ......furthermore if your motor accelerates to 60mph from a standstill and you know the weight of your car allowing for your own weight then you will know if your figure of so many seconds that you have attained is correct.

So why pay for the dyno when you have an approx. guide?

But I do understand that if your fussy and want to travel and give money away then so be it......everyone to there own.

Not only do I miss your point, its gone totally over my head:confused:

All you have is what the tuner tells you the map should produce. Why not dyno the car and prove beyond any doubt what the increase has been?

furthermore if your motor accelerates to 60mph from a standstill and you know the weight of your car allowing for your own weight then you will know if your figure of so many seconds that you have attained is correct.
The above depends on so many factors, how good the launch is, tyre choice, road surface, wet, dry.....etc etc. Its just guessing without a shred of proof you have what the tuner tells you is the supposed increase.
Your ar$e dyno will tell you its quicker, but not by how many bhp:dk:

I think we are poles apart on seeing a proven figure for a remap.

I dont mind Going upto MSL with you Herishi, May have dyno run myself ;) if the weather is dry of course lol

Just found zensport in Braintree too! They have a dyno :-)

That is very true, mine was just over 500bhp stock. After pulley and map it was just over 550bhp.

Well spoken to GAD and got a price for a custom map.

MSL asked for my number to call me but haven't called yet.

Zensport and eurocharged havent responded at all yet.

If the receptionist arranged the call you will probably be waiting awhile. Not the most efficient:D
