E350 cdi gearbox oil and filter change at 32k miles?

Mate of mine's got his E350cdi in for a service today (at an MB dealer) - 32k miles on an 18 month old car.
He is being told he needs a gearbox oil and filter change.

Does this sound right?

I thought MB gearboxes usually went a good 60-70k miles without even starting to think about changing the gearbox oil.
He's had no problems with it as far as I know.

37.5k seems to be the mileage at which this should be done for most cars with the 7Gtronic gearbox.

According to handbook it's a once only change at 37.5k miles. Had mine done at 45k oops. Will have it done again at 90k although not really needed, just to be on safe side.
