Given your extensive knowledge of all things I am surprised you didn't know:doh:

Have they moves the rear wash wipe on the faclifted models?

Mine is near the heated seats where you have blanks...(probably the only blanks you have...)

:)

How some cars are different, on a BMW its on the wiper stalk. I thought a similar arrangement it would be on the MB.

^ Maybe the newer ones?

My wipe is one button and wash another hence no blanks on that panel :)

Mine is.

really great looking car - im trying to convince my father that an E500 is the right tool to replace his E350cdi ...... what sort of mpg are you getting?

On a run to London over Christmas mpg was 32ish, its averaging 24 mpg at the mo but I'm currently only doing low miles around town. Quite impressed considering!

Very nice car. I think it'd look even better with the E-Class 211 18 inch Sport alloys :thumb:

Im not au fait on wheels but I like the wheels it has, they're clean and scrape free. I noticed the link to 18" wheels but £1900 plus tyres, jeeze.........

The car's looking great JJ!

I agree with you on the rims - I kept mine for the same reasons.

The 18's look a bit better but the tyres cost more and I assume they's ride a little more harshly.

(Having said that if mine had come on 18's I'd also have kept them on the basis that the improved looks made the tradeoffs worthwhile :-) )

I changed from 16" to 17" and I don't have the fancy air suspension and the rides very good. It maybe as mines an avant guard not a sport so has bouncy ride anyway :)

I would imagine on air even 19" would be ok?

As it looks it's a real sleeper. Must be 6 seconds or less to 60 ? Yet look so std :)

The ultimate Q car as only the badge gives it away (at standstill that is).

Could be amusing away from the lights if you took the badge off.

No exhaust pipes visible at the back at all.

Thanks for responses!

These cars get dirty quite quickly.....

The 0 - 60 is around 5.2 but whenever I put my foot down the traction lights flicker.......it maybe the greasy roads. I usually just float around in this but on the hardest suspension on new tarmac roads, driving it is wonderful.

There's a newly laid road from Sheffield into the Peak District and I was driving along this last weekend. Everything about the car inspired confidence through the bends. I was only travelling at 50 mph and on the straight the car behind me was tailgating looking to overtake but I was losing him in the corners, drasticly leaving him behind. He then would speed up to catch me on the straight but again I'd remain smooth through the next corner and leave him. I don't know why he was flustered.

I knew I was driving well as my wife, quite nervous usually, was enjoying it!

When I went on the AMG experience last year the instructor said that I was quite a natural, I bet he says that to all the boys. But given the right tool then swift progress can be made with no need for speed.

After a month and 1000miles I can honestly say that I do love this car. I would recommend to anyone to try one, the 5.5 that is...........

Hi jj,i have the same n/a 5.5ltr(388)engine in my cls, instead of planting your right foot when you want to have some fun try using the accelerator peddle more progressively & the traction control won't interfere as much(unless the road is wet).

Fabulous looking car. I came across this while researching E500 estates.
One quick, silly question: after owning one is there any word of warning to a potential new owner - apart from fuel consumption?
These look like fantastic estates to me - I can't understand why they are so deeply unpopular / low selling. I looked up the numbers for E500 Elegances - MB sold only 140 cars in total - probably no more than 20 estates in total - can that really be right?

what tax bracket are these in?
