Hi has anyone updated there air intake system? if so was there much improvement? i.e. figures state around 20 BHP increase and besides the power increase, they look nice!.. I cant seem to find any here in UK but appears to a few in USA and prices seem acceptable but gather with import taxes wont look that favourable... any pointers would be appreciated especially to Uk providers

Kalvin my fabtech one should arrive this week. I've nothing but good feedback from it. I've not had the import charge letter yet so can let you know what an all inclusive price would be when I have it.
Paul (Savman) would be the person to ask as he' has one

Hi Mat
thanks for response.... let me know how you get on with it.... did you have a link.... ill speak to Paul in next few days as gather things on his end might be busy with the new opening

Mat - Will be interested in your thoughts. What finish did you go for?

like the idea of the black headlamp housing being offered.. seems good price

Not sure how this would work in context though as would need to send the headlights over to them.

Don (donshl) has done this on his CLS. His car is black and it looks great, he had to put them in the oven to separate them. Knowing my luck that would all go t**s up!

Simon did you get my PM... not sure if getting sent?

I got some spare time and attempted fitting myself (did have to get my brother to help) I still need to reposition, align it all properly and importantly clean it all.
I will be interested to see of there are any gains in performance. I've not really had a chance to test due to the awful weather conditions here.
I did notice a nice 'whoosh' on lift off from hard acceleration :)

Looks like a job well done, I am not sure there are any real gains by this setup, but certainly looks the part.

Hi Matt

Looks really good mate, I was going to pm you to see if you had made any progress. It would be good to get it back on the dyno at EC so you can see what the difference is.

I know what you mean about the weather, my car hasn't moved for about 2 weeks, tried to start it yesterday and wouldn't even turn over, but luckily I had my new battery sitting in the boot ready to fit. Taking it back to Paul and Andy at EC on Tuesday for bit of map tweaking so will get a chance to give it a bit of a run.

Mat, this mod looks great, and is something i was thinking of, after all the data logging carried out for the split cooling and tank mod this is the natural next step.

The amount of heat transferred upward through the OEM air box system and into the inlet air must be considarable, this mod will i think bring down iat's further.

Is that Brought from Steve in the US???

we fitted one of there system let me see if i can find a pic.

Its one of my suppliers in the US fabtech Performance.

They look great, if your not an engineer, if i upgrade they would be covered in heat reflective material, for me its all about efficiency and not looks.

PM me if you want me to get a price for them.

Like Simon says.. would like to see what figures you get with this... I went quiet on this as their was varying comments on this mod on what in added to HP, but still look awfully nice there!!.. BTW Simon, like your car; mine has been parked up with trickle charger to preserve battery and due to further impending Cxxp weather things aren't going to change much on this yet...
