E55 AMG AVANTGARDE 2001 no reserve

Great spec...including electric headlights!!!

"THIS CAR PUSH LIKE A TRAIN"

What an awful advert, claims the car has had no expense spared through its life.

I bet its been owned a couple of months - not a word about what's been replaced, details of service history etc.

A load a vague piffle IMO.

"eats m5 m3 s3 s4 rs4 rs6"

Really? Fantastic. I always thought those 500BHP M5s, 400BHP M3s alone were bloody slow.

"ONE OFF ONE OF A KIND"

...not including all the other ones out there.

"PASSENGER HEATED SEAT WITH TWO LEVELS
DRIVER HEATED SEAT WITH TWO LEVELS"

Two levels you say?

"NO STAINS OR DIRT"

Liar - look at the picture of the engine bay - what's on that engine cover then? Fairy dust?

I like the door which has been carefully blendid in to not look like the wing, or vice versa.

C'mon guys, it's not that bad? :dk:

Currently on £1500 with no reserve, for a facelifted E55 with sensible miles on it.

Spec is pretty good (COMAND, parktronic etc) and it doesn't look half bad. Certainly not as rotten as many other E55s or any other W210s you see on a daily basis.

Advert could be better, but I wouldn't rule it out if you were after an inexpensive AMG to run around in

I agree the advert could be better BUT...

That could be your gain if you have seen the car and bidding??

No way I would bid without seeing in the flesh but it does look pretty good and a good spec.

What's it worth I've no idea but it looks pretty good.

Blended... not just maths is not your strong point..:)

It's had all four wings painted to de-rust the arches, pretty normal for a Merc and overall it looks tidy.

I know the advert does not read well, but the car could be a real bargain for someone.

As a side note, maybe the seller has English as a second language and is struggling to describe exactly how good a car this is, but we should give him the benefit of the doubt and not write him off.

What put me off buying one? The dashboard isn't quite individual enough...fantastic layout with head-up display and diffused air ventillation, but a bit "normal" in the controls area, and the performance and economy are a bit lacking with the 2.7 HDi.

Ventilation... not just maths is not your strong point..:)

Looks nice but any tech heads know what the 0-60 and the is the mpg like?
I got a 2001. I get 19/20mpg around town when driving sensibly. Guffing it i get 15/16mpg. The 0-60 is reportedly 4.8-5.2secs. They really get up and go.

"inexpensive AMG to run around in"

They don't exist...

The ad is a sign of something that's not had much money spent on it - giving you a long list to attend to - wallet rape a certainty!

Having said all that I REALLY want one.

That's not true.

E55 W210s are very tough and durable cars.

Aside from the slightly more expensive brake discs/pads, and the spark plugs (x16) it's a cheap car to run.

I think my CLK55 AMG has been one of the cheapest cars to run that I have owned, nothing has gone wrong at all in 2 1/2 years

How can you say that it's not had much money spent on it, or that it's going to cost a lot of money to run - have you seen this car in person? :wallbash:

E55s rust just like any other W210.

Yep - but that doesn't make them any more (or less) expensive to run than any other W210 :)

And this one looks pretty good, rust/body condition-wise :thumb:

Unfortunately 210's do rust. Mine, however is completely rust free. Still has gleaming paintwork.
IMHO 210's are very good cars. I work on all models and i think 210's are far more comfortable, durable and reliable than many later models. Shame they rust so bad!!!

You're making the mistake of thinking I give a to$$...
