E55 AMG loss of power

Anyone had loss of power on there E55 ? Mine wont pass 140 and it is remapped and was able to hit the 160 with ease . Any Idea's before I take it into the performance shop ??
 
You really do need to get your car to an Indy and get it on Star, could well be your IC pump but with all the issues you are having it could be anything.

Also to be honest Im reluctant taking it to the dealer as last time they removed the remap so luckly the guy's at falcon re installed it for free .Also would a indi / star be able to pin point wer the problem is at them sort of speeds ?

No need to take it to an MB dealer any Merc specialist that has Star, tell them before they start that its modified but they wont need to touch the map anyway.
The IC pump is behind the drivers side fog light you can see it from underneath, they will be able to test it through Star and check your other errors as well.

You will save a ton of money in just replacing parts that you don't need to, once they get to know you they typically don't charge very much. It also sounds like they are going to get to know you well until you sort out all the gremlins.
 
Mmmmm I know your right ......so would you ( your humble opinion ) would you go back to the tuner or to a good indi with STAR ? Feel like ya ma DAD pmsl
 
Star first get them to give you all codes that come off they should also be able to suggest a course of action and you can always post them on here. Then if you need to go to the tuner, I can't think of anything the remap would have done unless they have set the limiter to a lower value.
 
Funny enough I was looking at getting a Johnson CM30 or Bosch pump yesterday.

Markevo, I will get corrected here (oft so and quite rightly), but I find after a few lively runs, mine loses a bit of power for a while. I don't tend to reach your speeds, and find it happens with quick blats to 70-80mph (rare though, with a Mrs TDE1 usually barking at me to slow down)

There's a wealth of E55k knowledge on here - daren't name any for fear of missing anyone out, but someone will usually come along with comprehensive advice.



Peeking at other forums makes me think it's an easy enough fix to do with cooling. There are others on here with a wealth of knowledge, but I know there are cooling issues.

No it was fine after the remap as I had took for a run to see what it was like .......this has only appeared today with the EVO who now thinks E55's are easy meat LOL :doh:

I'll will arrange to go to a indi in Newcastle ( little bit further away ) which comes highly recommended buy other members up here :rock: and get them to sort it all in 1 hit . Then if needed I'll pop back to the lads at Falcon who put the Viezu map on .

You are spot on and an IC pump failure or poorly bled system will show the symptoms you have, interestingly though Alx who had the CL600 biturbo at VMax had a very similar problem to markevo. His IC pump was shot and his car would not go over 140 mph.
