My car goes into manual mode fine and will shift up and down through the box on the buttons fine but I've noticed if you're just driving normally and are not accelerating hard or haven't changed gear for a good few seconds it seems to go back into S mode on its own, is that normal?.

Hi Oli.

Can't say mine does that, but only use M very occasionally. Does the same happen when you use the main gear selector to change? I'll give it a try tomorrow. Good excuse for a run!

tbh, i very rarely use M mode as S mode is calibrated very well

I'm the same, feel like I'm being a bit soft but I only use C as I can drive harder and just use the paddles anyway, then go back to C again, I use the suspension setting more, now they really do make a difference!!

I dont think you can shift any quicker than the auto can.
I'm still quite new to mine, and wonder if the suspension settings affect the outright acceleration? Did a few 0-60 runs last month with the g/f on the stopwatch. Susp was set at C, auto to 'S' and traction control on (it always is!). Very pleased with results, but wonder if that's the best setting given weight transference. Sorry, wandered a bit off topic there..

I've not noticed it before, but then I rarely use M either, will either use C for normal driving or S if going quickly, as someone else said the M mode isn't that great anyway and the auto changes when it should, nothing seems wrong with the shifting in M mode at all, maybe they do just go back into S mode when the M mode isn't being made use of:dk:.

Hi

I don't know how old this thread is, however noticed this with mine tonight
It just jumped out of m mode back to s on it's own kept doing this unless as said above really thrashing it

Is this the norm?

I never use M as I find it painfully slow changing gear with the buttons.

I prefer to use S and downshift using the gear limiter and let it shift back up whilst nailing it.

Never use M as you can get manual selection from the other modes if needed

Don't remember mine ever changing back to S by itself .....but again, like a lot of others only use it now and again. Will test it when out next on a bit of a run.

Mine certainly never changes mode by itself...
