Car
AMG e55
Just been informed that my front boots are down to the string on the inside corner yet the rest of the tyre is 5mm of tread all the way across.

Does lowering the car effect camber on an e55? I have a Renntech ELM which I have adjusted, it was installed by previous owner and for a while I've been meaning to read up on it and adjust as the front was on the floor with the back sat up i little IMO, the settings on the front were extreme, 45mm lowered when Renntech suggest no lower than 25mm, so the car now looks more level and sits better, I'm hoping that this will help sort my tyre ware issue.

Is the front camber adjustable on an AMG e55?

Normally wear on the inner edge of the Tyre would indicate that the Tracking requires adjustment.

Mine sits low also, but my alignment place is very good and somehow managed to get it into spec, my tyres wear even.

How is the sale going? Its a shame you selling...

Paul

Ps this is how mine sits,

Not selling it now, I'm now going to sort the niggles out and enjoy the summer in it, mine now sits the same as yours, Renntech setting are 6 on the rear and 4 on the front, it was sell to 7 on the rear and 1 on the front which is a 45mm drop, well below what Renntech recommend for an AMG E55.
Was very pleased to find the install instructions on the renntechmercedes.co.uk website otherwise I wouldn't have stood a chance to adjust the ride height!

E classes are known for scrubbing the inner edge of the front tyres. All my previous ones had the same problem despite being set up correctly, just something you have to live with....

mine did the same and I took it to WheelsInMotion, they changed out the camber bolts on the front and I've kept an eye on the tyres over the last 2k miles and they seem to be wearing perfectly evenly now.

Thats very interesting info, seems a shame to throw 5mm of tread away because the inside edge is on the string so will see what I can sort out with these new tyres!
Many thanks.

Independent garage couldn't find any tracking or camber settings for the w211 e55 AMG?
their system apparently has 99% of all cars but not the e55, the database even had the w211 2005/6 e63.

Does anyone have the tech spec so I can check, even better the settings for even tyre ware or altered camber setting GARETH would be really grateful.
