E55 swathed in flowing prose

"This car is arguably better now than the day it came from the factory,"

Not really - all the components have been worn as per 100,000 miles. Engine is probably the only thing that is fine...

"the last of the true high quality Mercs at AMG level"

Mmmhmm. Not familiar with the massive rust problems the W210 suffers, no?

Still, you can't really be saying 'runs like sh** and has massive rust problems' if you want to sell it...

:D

It will never beat the immortal line from a Mercedes W126 advert linked on here some time ago;

"She is watched wherever she is driven"

With my 'sales' hat on, I'd add:

"Spent all it's life in Norfolk, so never been driven above sea level, hasn't even seen a hill"

Aside from the wordsmiths ability to dazzle with euphemisms , what value would you put on this car? It does look rather indecoratastic after all :crazy:

"Oil Pressure is max, Engine power is 100%"

There's no oil pressure readout (or is there?) or gauge, and no built-in rolling road. How does he know these things?

How much of it has been resprayed, I wonder?

Value? Well, I paid £3150 for my '98 E55 estate, same colour, very similar condition, but less complete history and without the two-tone leather interior.

£3500 tops, perhaps? Unless they wait for a mug who just falls in love with it. It's easy to be smitten with the power on a test drive.....

Surely more, it's the very rare Advent Guard version.

I've been wondering how long it would take for the 'last of the proper Mercs' description to reach the W210 series.
