I have a problem with my w210 E55.
The problem is that sometimes the throttle response is very very slow. To give a example i was stopped at traffic lights today and when the lights went green i pushed the throttle to the floor but nothing happens for at least 4 or 5 seconds then the car suddenly flies off.
But if i turn the car off then back on the throttle response is back to normal.
Any help would be appreciated.

anybody ?

Its not an everyday problem. Its only happened 4 or 5 times in the last 6-7 weeks. But as i said earlier the only way to stop it and get it back to normal throttle response is to turn the car off and then back on again:confused:

You need to get the codes read. The lack of throttle may be a symptom of another fault or it could be either failing throttle potentiometer or throttle actuator.

I cleaned the maf 2 weeks ago and i noticed a big improvement in performance after. But the problem came back again a few days ago.
There is no engine management lights on the dash so does that mean there would be no fault code logged?

I may aswell fit a new maf as the car is nine years old and the maf more than likely the same. So it wouldn't hurt to change it

The lack of an engine management light does not mean there are no fault codes

If you buy a new one but it from any Bosch service center it will be more than ½ the price of MB
Don't you mean less than half the price Malcolm?

Anybody have the Bosch part number to hand?
Is the same MAF used in any other models?

Quote the reg number to your car to Euro car parts and they will get you a bosch item.
