Evenin' all. I'm used to Saabs, for which NGK BCPR7E-11 spark plugs are very much the plug of choice an all the forums. Is my '98 E55 equally finicky about its plugs, and what do others use?

Hi,
I have used standard BOSCH items in both my M113 V8's, with no problems, though to be honest I wanted NGK when I had my 55 engine fitted but Euros did,nt have them in stock at the time, do remember that you will have 16 to buy, and when changing them check the rocker covers for leaks as this is a very common problem on the 113 engine.

Thanks Andy. Could I ask, which NGKs, and which Bosch?

Not really heard of/come across many M113 spark plug issues - unless they're well past overdue replacement I would leave them well alone :)

Stick with standard OE/MB parts and you'll be fine :thumb:

What mileage are they meant to be changed at? I reckon mine will have done 106K miles.

Anyone know which Bosch or NGK plugs are suitable?

As I've mentioned before - at that mileage for an E55, if they have not been done you need :

New Spark Plugs
Full fresh ATF change
And it would be worth for piece of mind getting fresh brake fluid etc.

In fact just do a big service on it and then you can just get behind the wheel, relax and enjoy the car.

+1 on the ATF, and brake fluid, and coolant, and the diff fluid

I still don't know exactly which plugs people recommend, though.. Go on, give me a clue
