My '03 E55K estate has Michelin PS3s fitted all round. The rears are down to 4mm (from 8mm new) tread after 6k miles. Just after fitting them I had all four wheels aligned by Wheels In Motion at 135K miles, and apart from slightly-out OSR toe-in because of a seized camber adjuster bolt (max. 15 minutes out), it was all within spec. after adjustment. The advice was that that should not make any significant difference, and since the tyres appear to be wearing evenly, and WIM have an excellent reputation anyway, I believe it.

It looks as though I will only get 9K miles out of the rears at best, though. Most of my mileage is trundling down motorways at legal(ish) speeds. Does that sort of wear sound about right, or am I using the loud pedal too much?

My previous Michelin PS3 lasted approx 9k on the rear of my CLS. The fronts still have Pirelli Zeros after 23k...

9k sounds about right, but you don't say how long the fronts last.

Only had the car a year; I don't know yet.

The OSF (also a PS3) has 3.5mm; the NSF (a Pirelli) I had to change because it was on the limit. Both came with the car. The MoT tester advised that both were wearing heavily on the inner edges, though, so there may be a problem. Time will tell.

Difficult for me to say as I have 3 sets of wheels that get rotated round, so I never know what milage I get out of a set of tyres

Sounds like Conti Sport Contact 3's are more hard wearing ..

My last set or rears lasted 15k miles, and the fronts (still at 3mm when I changed them) 25k miles
