E63 brakes again - AP racing 400mm front kit

Yes im running DS2500's and these callipers are the same Brembo callipers that are used on the RS6 C6.

so pad fitmint is fine.

The calliper will use the "whole disc" on a 400mm disc, the stock RS6 discs are 380mm and use the full area.

Here - Link for pads http://www.jdl-brakes.com/mercedes/mercedes-e63-amg-w212/brake-pads.html

Have you installed your new rotors yet mate?
Just thought I'd see what your initial thoughts were?

I expect that there may be other pad options for the RS6 - thanks, I'll look for them too. Is there a specific model/option that I should use to ensure that the caliper is the same as used on the MY13/MY14 E63 with 360mm disks?

No mate any pads that fit the RS6 C6 or C7 Iron discs will fit the calliper just fine.
The surface area is the same on the 360mm as the 380's on the RS and also the same as the 400's discussed here, the difference is just the overall size, so even though contact area is the same because the circumferance is bigger you get better heat dissapation mainly.
I havent tested this theory other than with the DS2500's that state they are for a C6 RS6, and they are the same Brembo Calliper.

Just installed ds2500 the weekend not bed them in properly yet but first impressions are good

Get them bedded in and do a few stops to get some heat into them, you'll be mentally suprised, i'd change your fluid for some higher temp stuff... Radi Cal R4 or Castrol SRF is the highest but most expensive, some RBF600 or similar would do fine mind, you'll find the fluid will now be your weak spot in the brakes.

Funnily enough I was emailing him last night and asked if he can supply DS2500 pads instead.

Hopefully I'll get them on order soon.

Guys, I've just ordered the 400mm discs and was wondering where's the cheapest place to buy DS2500 pads please?

Thanks.

How much did you get them for in the end? and pads...

Ferodo DS2500 pads FRP3133H - JDL-Brakes.com

Excuse the daft question please, not feeling at my sharpest today. Are you guys saying you are able to fit 400mm discs and still use the factory fitted calipers?

You certainly can, you just need an adaptor but this is supplied with the kits we've ordered.

If you want bespoke racing brake pads, get in touch with Carbotech; great customer service coupled with extensive knowledge.

They did pads for my Brabus brakes, highly recommended.

By the adaptor you mean a new caliper carrier or spacer that moves the caliper away from the wheel centre?

Has anyone used the Brembo discs and pads (there are also some pagid pads available) available from ECP? If so, any issues? I have the parts price breakdowns for ECP and Merc if anyone wants them?

No, I have not tried them but would be interested. I did find rear disks for about £80 though!. Post some details please

From Merc

Front pads £194.00
Front discs £496.21 per disc
Rear pads £170.00
Rear discs £202.16 per disc

all above are without VAT and retail prices. You will also needs the sensors at &8.53 per axle.

The ECP prices got so complex I'm not going to bother putting them down at this stage. Long story.

Don't forget to ask for at least a 10% discount [emoji3]

Indeed, I paid MB Grangemouth c£330 for F\R pads earlier this year

I only ever pay trade anyway. I thought I'd put retail for those that are not able to get any discount.;)
