Hi All,

Looking out for a nice set of 19" C63 wheels but no good sets at the moment.
Lots of new wheels, obviously copies etc.
But are they any good?

Same case for me too. 19's (with a small possibility of 20's maybe) for my CLS,but find it difficult to find something i'll really like.
Yesterday i found this german site with wheels, and its very helpfull due to the way it shows your car with each wheel you choose.

Someone on a recent thread relating to vibration mentioned how cheap, Chinese manufactured wheels were prone to going out of round and elongating the centre hole. Personally, established make and a reputable source is far more important than price.

Malcolm posted a link to these and they seem to do very good wheels that are actually oem replacements and get approval as such...

WSPItaly Cerchi in lega

Find the wheel you want and then search eBay for it. More expensive than cheap replicas, but still around 1/3 of the price of the same wheel direct from Mercedes.

I've been looking for a few months now - need to change tyres, so the right time to go up to 19s.

I've looked at everything and they're cheaper to buy in euros over here, but I've never had that confidence to press the button. The CL is a heavy old girl and I can never find any load ratings for alloys. Seen some lovely 19s which say suitable for Golfs, so doubt they'd be substantial enough for mine.

It really is a minefield and a gamble. I found this place which looks interesting:

BM Auto Sport - Alloy Wheel Specialists

and may be easier to check on wheel suitability.

The other issue for mine is the offsets ...... et44 front and et46 rear - most replicas seem to be et35-ish.

Will have a look at the Italian site - thanks, gIzzE.

The only bad thing about getting replicas is that the material isnt as strong so you might bend, warp, or crack over a bump or hole on the road! I would say if you love your ride spend the $$ or make sure they real. Check the vin numbers inside the rim.

Guys i just scored on sum OEM AMG rims!!! 18x9 no lip no offset. TRADED FOR MY SNOWBOARD EQUIPMENT!!

Replicas have served me very well, but if you drive hard, or have a powerful car I would definitely buy OEM, my brother and friend have cracked wheels in the last few months on their BM's but both drive like they just stole their cars and are pretty juicy 330d's

A friend of mine has a 2014 E 350 Bluetec. He has just purchased a set of replica AMG's from a company call Rubber and Rims in Rotherham 19" with tyres for approx £1400.00. I have not dealt with the company so unaware of the service but my friend is very happy with his purchase.

I think he got shafted if they are replicas

Yep good quality replicas should be no more than £500. So he paid overs the odds on tyres as has been pointed out above.

I'd buy a set of cheap alloys for my work van not for my pride and joy !
If you buy a cheap set of wheels for a sports car imho you downgrading the car so if wanted to change my wheels I'd been looking for a decent make!
