Hi

We have a Neoplan coach with a merc V6 engine, the ECU has developed a fault and needs replaced.

We have located a second hand unit and want program this unit to the vehicle,is there any way of extracting the information required without having the old unit at hand?

Also if we get this information is this a straightforward procedure to program the unit?

Unfortunately the company we used for testing the faulty unit has misplaced the unit and we dont think we can get the this information from the unit.

We have the DAS system with factory settings unlocked.

The unit part number is 001 446 20 40.

No,

You'll need it decoding first.

Then you can have it coded to the vehicle..

Don't think you can reprogram ECU's to be honest , once coded to the vehicle , they are locked .

No.

They are, Most have a eeprom that holds the data in it. The Drive authorisation systems need this to interlock it. DAS as its known as.

Your ECU will have a HC11 Motorola mcu in it.

:)

Thanks for the replies

We have the DAS system with EOL rights unlocked, what is the procedure for decoding and then recoding the replacement ECU to the vehicle?

We now have the old information from the previous faulty unit.

Regards
