Ecu?

Hi, I'm new to this so forgive me if I'm doing this wrong! I have a 2001 E320 CDI Auto Avante Guarde which has started 'hunting'. I've taken it for a diagnostic and have been told it's the gearbox ECU but, from what I've read, this fault usually results in the car 'jumping' out of gear or stopping altogether and unable to restart, which is not happening. Sometimes it runs as sweet as a nut, especially when warm, and seems worse when cold. I'd like a second opinion and want to know if you have any recommendations as to where to take it? I live in the Birmingham/Solihull area. Any ideas good people? :bannana:

Go and see WDM by the dog track at Perry Barr.

They have a man on the firm who can reprogramme ECUs so you can fit a used one if needed (I just happen to have one as it happens).

I would have thought it's something else though, I doubt the gearbox ecu is your problem.

But the boys at WDM should be able to sort it.
