Electric Boot Closing Stopped Working

The electric boot closing mechanism on my W124 estate stopped working yesterday. Would anyone be able to shed any light on why this may be?

It's not a fuse!

I'm still able to close the boot manually, just missing the satisfaction of the wee motor doing it for me!

Cheers.

Chances are its never been lubricated since new...and the motor has probably seized. the one on the last estate did not work; current one does.

Would be interested to know where to lubricate it myself before it does throw a wobbly!

Hope its a simple fix at the end of the day.

Cheers, I'll let you know what happens, attacked it with a can of WD40 the other day, to no avail!

mine is currently making a different sound than it usually does.... like if it needs lubricating. i sprayed some WD40 into mine aswell at the weekend for the 1st time in a year. made a minor difference.

may be best to remove it from the car and clean it up - but i dont know if this is possible but probably something i will look into soon aswell before mine breaks completeley!
