Three problems fellas, would appreciate your advice!

1. This car has been in the family 8 years but the sunroof no longer works.

If you tilt the switch to tilt the sunroof, it SLIDES back, but then it will stop 4 times on the way to fully open.

Again to close it, you must use the 'tilt' part of the switch and again it takes 4 seperate on/off's to get it shut.

Does it need a new motor or switch?

2. Also the dash board lights behind the fan control & swich directly above it do not work - is there an easy fix?

3. Anywhere specifically you guys would reccomend for good quality aftermarket replacment mats?

Thanks alot, I would really appreciate any help.

1. You might want to check the motor as it seems its on its way out.... mine did this and then stopped suddenly and had to be replaced - the stealer charged me 900 quid including parts
2. You could dismantle the dash and replace the little leds, I think a guy called Frenchy has done this on his W202, failing this you could get a new unit which would be expensive....
3. German Swedish and French - GSF do OEM car mats for much less than the stealer....

Regarding question 2 its just a matter about changing the small bulbs, there cheap enough at the dealers. The hard bit I guess would be actully taking the centre console out and swapping the bulbs over. They are fairly small so can be fiddly. Welcome to the forum by the way.

Thanks NW Merc, I looked at Frencys post but he's done the speedo area, but thanks anyway.

I might try and get a scrap motor for the sunroof then.

Regarding the mats, are they really as good as OEM quality? They are a present so I want them to be nice.

Thanks again!

try shutting it with the central locking and see what happens. if it works, then the motor is good. might just need resetting

Cheers fellas, will check back on this post another time, you've been a great help.
